Why Komiuta exists

Booking an intercity bus in East Africa used to mean visiting a crowded terminal, calling around for fares or relying on word of mouth. Komiuta changes that: search your route, compare real operators and fares, choose your exact seat and pay securely from your phone.

We started in 2019 with a simple goal — make bus travel more predictable and more dignified. Today we work with premier operators across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, and our platform handles ticketing for hundreds of thousands of travellers every year.

Every ticket includes a boarding QR code and barcode, an instant SMS/e-mail copy and a secure link to view it later. If something goes wrong, our support team is available daily from 8 AM to 10 PM.
